Prefinished Knotty Pine Extra Thick Stair Tread
Knotty Pine wood stair treads have a light yellowish sapwood color to a dark reddish brown heartwood. Knotty Pine is a lightweight wood, characterized by a straight grain and a fine, even texture. While knots are prevalent in the wood, the knots tend to be small and tight, giving the wood the signature rustic look that pine is so well known for.
These Knotty Pine extra thick stair treads are available from 1-1/4" to 1-3/4" thick, and in almost any width and length. Extra thick treads are very popular for open staircases. We offer Grade 1S for extra thick stair treads that will be visible only on the top, front and returned sides, and Grade 2S for extra thick stair treads that will be visible on the bottom and back as well. Prefinishing and preststaining is available on all wood stair treads. For prefinishing, we apply three coats of conversion varnish with catalyzer added. For prestaining, the treads are stained and then three coats of converion varnish are applied. |
