Similar to Knotty Alder, Knotty Pine creates a rough-hewn, rustic look through its patterns of dark knots and burls. These create a speckled, complex texture for the eye or the touch, contrasting with the smooth feel of the rest of the pine boards. The grain is very often straight, but is complemented by waves and spiral patterns.
