Walnut heartwood ranges from light brown to dark chocolate brown, occasionally with dark streaks. Walnut sapwood is off=white and tan, and may sometimes have wavy or curly grain.
This Walnut wood landing tread, also known as stair nosing, makes the perfect transition from your flooring or landing to your wood staircase. Your wood landing tread will ship slightly over length.
All of our prefinished landing treads are made from top quality hardwoods. Our wood landing treads are not engineered and do not have a veneer. For all prefinished wood stair treads, a special catalyzer is added to a commercial grade, 45 sheen conversion varnish. Three coats are applied to each wood landing tread. This finish is hard and durable! Your prefinished Walnut wood landing tread(s) will be custom made and shipped within three weeks. Wood landing treads are available unfinished, prefinished or prestained. We are proud to use Woodwright products to finish and stain our wood landing treads.
Prefinished landing treads have a microbevel on the back top edge. If you do not want the microbevel, please put a note in the comment section of your order.
For prefinished wood landing treads, three coats of our clear conversion varnish will be applied.
For prestained wood landing treads, a stain is applied, then three coats of varnish. If you choose to have your wood landing tread prestained, we will email you after the order is placed to find out which color you have chosen. You can select from any Woodwright color and choices are shown
here.
