Conversion Varnish Finish
Our dedicated finishing team pays careful attention throughout the finishing process, as they apply three coats of a 45 sheen commercial grade conversion varnish to the face of your butcher block countertop. Two coats are applied to all other areas, including the underside. A catalyzer added to the varnish completes the process and ensures a hard, durable surface.

Note: Conversion Varnish Finishes are NOT recommended for food-prep surfaces.

Food-Grade Mineral Oil Finish
The sturdy construction, and durability of materials, make butcher block countertops ideal surfaces for all your kitchen functions, including cutting and preparing foods. To allow your countertop to be used this way, you will want to select a food-grade mineral oil finish. This finish is not permanent, but occasional reapplication of food grade mineral oil is quick and easy. Please refer to the finishing instructions you receive with your block.

Edge grain butcher block countertops are made by face gluing 1" thick hardwood boards together, and then cutting to the desired length and thickness. The strips always run the length of the countertop and are never finger jointed. The resulting final product is a beautiful, unique, and highly functional piece that will transform your kitchen.
