Hard Maple - also known as Sugar Maple or Rock Maple - is a heavy-weight hardwood ideal for kitchen applications, such as butcher block countertops. Hard Maple has a straight grain and a fine texture, and offers an off-white, creamy sapwood, which is normally used in place of the heartwood.
