Prefinished Knotty Alder End Grain Butcher Block Countertop
Our Prefinished Knotty Alder End Grain Butcher Block Countertops may range in color from a light sapwood to a light brown heartwood with reddish or peach tones. Knotty Alder is similar in character to Pine, and has solid, open knots that vary in size, shape, and color. Knotty Alder often has small and large split knots and open knots that may go completely through the wood.
End grain butcher block countertops are available in any size up to 4-1/4" thick, 42" wide and 96" long. End grain butcher block countertops will have some color variation and feature rectangles about 1" wide and random lengths, usually between 1-1/2" and 6". The rectangles are glued together in checkerboard pattern. They are not perfectly aligned to the checkerboard pattern, creating an informal look that is hard to match! Choose from food safe mineral oil or our commercial grade conersion varnish. If your end grain butcher block countertop will not be used for food preparation, conversion varnish is the recommended choice. |
